‘Best Buddies Chapter Connects Students in Kindness and Volunteerism’
Students from Heritage High School, Wake Forest featured on WRAL
Newly chartered Best Buddies chapter at Heritage High School in Wake Forest connects students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Newkirk, a student at Heritage High School said, “It’s so fun to have brand new friends.” The club provides opportunities for students of all abilities to engage in social environments and activities.
Featured on WRAL, this Best Buddies High School chapter integrates all participants with the community, through service events and fundraisers. Presently, people in the Wake Forest area are encouraged to donate new or gently used shoes to Heritage High’s Best Buddies chapter. All donations will be given to developing countries affected by inequality.
The club also helps connect students to more volunteer work and transition into integrated employment opportunities at local businesses.
