New York State Local Leadership Trainings
Best Buddies in Western New York Local Leadership Training Day 2020
This year New York held four Virtual Local Leadership Training Day across the state. We had over 86 student leaders from our High School and college chapters attend these trainings! LLTD is an annual event where we invite students from across New York state to become better leaders and advocates in their schools and communities. During this virtual training, students learned how to:
- Recruit new students to join their chapter virtually;
- Learn how to run your events successfully both in person and virtually;
- Use social media to spread the mission of Best Buddies;
- How to be a spokesperson for the IDD community;
- And much more!
This training is so crucial for students because it encourages personal development in a way that is fun, informative, and enables them to connect with other student leaders and lead in a way that impacts their entire school. The growth and success of Best Buddies would not be possible without the thousands of students who partake in the organization on an annual basis and Local Leadership Training Day plays a large part in their success.
