Best Buddies In Pennsylvania: Buddy Balls
March is Best Buddies Month, and what better way to celebrate than with throwing a Buddy Ball! But here in Pennsylvania, one wasn’t enough, so we threw multiple! Buddy Balls make a big impact by bringing people together across the state. People gathered from all over eastern Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania to build friendships, have fun, and celebrate their chapters’ hard work along with the mission of Best Buddies!
In our Philadelphia office on March 15th, Owen J Roberts hosted our middle school Buddy Ball. Over six chapters came out, making it a lively event that everyone enjoyed. There was dancing, photo booths, crafts, games, food, and friendship! Thanks to Camille and Brynn for bringing this event to life!
The next day, March 16th, on the other side of the state, we saw college and high school students gathering at Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh for another Buddy Ball. It was a day filled with laughter and camaraderie. Thanks to Baldwin and Eric for helping make this event possible! Also, thanks to the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh for partnering with us for this event.
On March 23rd, Henderson High School welcomed 13 high schools from Eastern PA for yet another memorable Buddy Ball. It was a chance for students from different schools to come together and connect. The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and lasting memories. Thanks to Rob and Jamie and their team at Henderson for making this event an unforgettable night.
Hold on though, these events aren’t all! Many of our chapters host their own smaller versions of buddy balls on campus like Upper Merion Middle School’s Sock Hop or Duquesne’s Valentine’s Day Dance! Additionally, back in February, DeSales University hosted a Buddy Ball for chapters from Lehigh, Muhlenberg, and Kutztown, expanding the reach of our initiative. Lastly, we have a buddy ball coming up at West Chester University on April 14th!
These Buddy Balls are about celebrating the diversity that makes Pennsylvania great. We cannot wait for next year’s events!
