For those who have attended a Best Buddies Leadership Conference (BBLC) in the past, you know it’s a life-changing experience. Today, we introduce you to two incredible individuals, Courtney and Michelle, from the Citizens Chapter in Fort Myers, Southwest Florida. We spent a few minutes with them during BBLC to learn more about their friendship.

Life Before Best Buddies Courtney shares, “My life was very lonely before joining Best Buddies.” Michelle adds, “Mine was not as eventful and is much more fulfilling now.”

Buddy Activities Courtney and Michelle love shopping together and frequenting Starbucks. Courtney’s favorite drink is Dr. Pepper, which she humorously notes is not Michelle’s favorite. Despite their drink differences, their time together is filled with joy and laughter.

What They Enjoy Most Michelle loves hanging out with Courtney, sharing life’s moments, and getting to know her better. Courtney enjoys their time together, especially laughing at silly things. Michelle adds a light-hearted note about her sister Jen trying to “steal” Courtney as her buddy, emphasizing their close bond.

Programs and Involvement Both Courtney and Michelle are part of the Citizens program. Michelle has also contributed to high school chapters, further enriching her experience.

Life After Joining Best Buddies Michelle describes her life as “much busier, more fulfilling, more fun, and adventurous.” They’ve known each other since 2020, and their friendship has brought new dimensions to their lives.
