Best Buddies in Alabama Hosts Leadership Training Day

Best Buddies Alabama hosted its most successful “Back to Best Buddies Training” yet in February 2025 at Birmingham Disability Rights and Resources, drawing the largest turnout of local chapter leaders and advisors from middle, high school, and college chapters. The event provided essential training and resources to help strengthen Best Buddies programs across Alabama.
Attendees participated in an afternoon focused on leadership development, creating inclusive environments, and building meaningful relationships for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With a record number of participants, the event emphasized the growing impact of Best Buddies in Alabama’s local communities.
“This has been our best turnout yet, and it’s a testament to the dedication and passion of our chapter leaders. The training helps us build a stronger network and ensures that Best Buddies chapters continue to create lasting, supportive friendships for people with disabilities across the state.” – Lead Program Manager Lydia Goff
With more participants than ever before, Best Buddies Alabama looks forward to an even more successful year of promoting inclusion and friendship.
