Kailey Sullivan Crowned Champion of the Year in Arizona
Best Buddies in Arizona proudly marked the 20th of our annual Champion of the Year gala, a momentous celebration of the remarkable achievements we’ve accomplished over the past two decades. This year’s gala, fueled by the exceptional dedication of our eight Champion Candidates, surpassed all expectations by raising over $390,000. Among these outstanding candidates, one shining star emerged, and that was none other than Kailey Sullivan.
Kailey, a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Northern Arizona University, exemplifies the spirit of Best Buddies. Her deep commitment and passion for our cause were evident as she, alongside her Mission Partner Ashlee Coffman, led an incredible fundraising effort that yielded over $105,000. These funds will play a crucial role in supporting Best Buddies programs across Arizona.
Kailey’s connection with Best Buddies stems from her family’s longstanding involvement with the organization, particularly through their friendship with the Coffman family. Inspired by the Coffmans, Kailey immersed herself in various Best Buddies events, from Friendship Walks to Spirit of Friendship galas. With each gathering, she forged new friendships and connections, ultimately falling in love with the organization and its noble mission.
As the crowned Champion of the Year, Kailey Sullivan joins the prestigious ranks of those who have left an indelible mark on Best Buddies. Her dedication and the dynamic power of the Sullivan legacy make her the third Champion of the Year to emerge from this remarkable lineage.
The impact of Kailey’s commitment and the collective efforts of all Champion Candidates echo beyond the gala, promising a legacy that will continue to shape the future of Best Buddies in the coming year.
