What time zone is the event in? Is it possible to change the time zone?

Yes! A new feature this year is to select the time zone you are in to see the sessions in your desired time.  When you first login to the site, you will be prompted to choose your time zone.  After that, you can always change it from the Sessions Page and clicking on the time zone at the top of the screen.
