Who knew, that on July 22, 2019 two people’s lives would change for the better?  That’s when Amy Farina and Donna Distefano were officially matched into the Best Buddies program.  Before being matched with Amy, Donna had previously been a part of the program; however, her buddy made a huge life decision to move to Florida to be closer to her mom.  As you can imagine, Donna was extremely upset with this news so Krista and Danielle, the liaisons for their chapter, knew that they would have to find the perfect match for Donna.  You see, Donna and her previous buddy did a lot together, so when it was time for the interview process, Krista and Danielle made it very clear to the potential candidates that there were some high expectations for this match.  That’s when they met Amy – they immediately knew that she was the perfect match for Donna!  To say the void has been filled is an understatement, as Donna has become a huge part of Amy’s family.  They do a lot together which includes going out to eat and spending time with Amy’s family.

Amy has an extremely big heart, and our chapter can always count on her to provide us with either a silly picture of them together or them smiling from ear to ear.  Amy shared the following: “A year ago, I had the good fortune to become a Best Buddy to my dear friend, Donna DiStefano.  To say it’s been a pleasure would be an understatement. Aside from being a mom, it’s been the most rewarding and humbling experience I’ve ever had. I’m so grateful for her and the Best Buddies program.”  ~ Amy Farina
