Aalia and Olivia are like a burst of color and joy in each other’s lives! This fashionista pair loves to get inspiration from window shopping at the mall and express their creativity at painting classes.

“Aalia is the most stylish person I have ever met,” Olivia said. “She loves bright colors, and her clothing and makeup are always vibrant and fun.”

The Virginia & DC Citizens program matched Aalia and Olivia in May 2020, creating the spark for their meaningful relationship to grow and shine!

Basketball and brunch dates are also a must for the outgoing girls. They love to cheer on the George Mason Patriots at EagleBank Arena and recently celebrated a birthday in style with lots of colorful balloons and beautiful flowers.

One of Olivia’s favorite memories was their experience at the Holi Festival of Colors.

“We danced, enjoyed eating amazing food, and celebrating another culture. I think we danced for almost 5 hours straight. I was sore the next day!”

Aalia and Olivia prove that having a friend is like having a secret ingredient for a great life. It’s not just about boosting mental and physical health, but also about kicking stress to the curb and feeling like you truly belong.

“[Aalia] loves her job, and she loves being social and around friends and family. I feel grateful that through my friendship with Aalia, I have also gained a friendship with her sister, Raafia. I can honestly say that they are two of my very best friends, and I know I can call them if I ever need anything. We are more than friends…we have become family.”
