In Best Buddies, people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), such as autism and Down syndrome, come together to form friendships and a community that celebrates their diversity of character and abilities. Best Buddies does not require members to divulge any diagnoses or conditions to participate. You must be at least 10 years old to join a Best Buddies program. Please note: specific age requirements per program are listed below.
Best Buddies Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges and Promoters include students with and without IDD. Students must be enrolled at a school with a Best Buddies chapter or an affiliated service provider/agency. Members with IDD must be at least 18 years old to join a college chapter.
School programs also include advisor positions which are filled by faculty or staff at a Best Buddies chapter or an affiliated service provider/agency.

e-Buddies are individuals with and without IDD that are at least 10 years old and have regular access to the Internet.
Individuals with IDD who are exiting the school system or are no longer a part of the school system can join the Jobs program. Specifically, those who are seeking support to help identify and maintain jobs in their local community.
