Event Proceeds to Support Best Buddies\u2019 Mission of Friendship and Inclusion<\/em><\/p>\n

Malibu, CA, May 1, 2018 – <\/strong>Best Buddies International<\/strong><\/a>, a nonprofit founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver<\/strong> to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)<\/em>, is excited to announce its Second Annual Mother\u2019s Day Brunch <\/strong>hosted by Best Buddies Celebrity Ambassador Vanessa Hudgens<\/strong> and her mother Gina. The event will take place Saturday, May 12, in Malibu, California.<\/p>\n

This Mother\u2019s Day Brunch will celebrate mothers all around the world, especially the incredible mothers of Best Buddies participants, paying homage to the gifts of love and friendship that mothers give to their children. Acclaimed photographer Brian Bowen Smith <\/strong>will capture all the special moments of the mothers and their children throughout the day.<\/p>\n

The Brunch will feature cocktails, live musical performances, family-friendly activities and a special awards ceremony honoring the Best Buddies\u2019 Mother of the Year<\/em> \u2013 Diana Mayor<\/strong> \u2013 the mother of Jack Mayor, who is a Best Buddies Global Ambassador and advocate for others with intellectual and developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cBest Buddies gave my son Jack his best friend, Josie. Best Buddies in turn gave me HOPE!\u00a0 Hope for a better\u00a0future for all kids like Jack,\u201d said Diana Mayor. \u201cWords cannot express how thankful we are\u00a0to Anthony K. Shriver for his\u00a0vision back in 1989, a vision that led to one of countless stories like Jack and Josie\u2019s.\u00a0Best Buddies\u00a0is changing lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrity guests expected to attend this year includes Best Buddies Global Ambassador Cindy Crawford<\/strong> and her daughter Kaia Gerber, <\/strong>actors Lisa Rinna <\/strong>and Harry Hamlin,<\/strong> actress and model Olivia Culpo<\/strong>, actor Darren Criss, <\/strong>actress Minnie Driver<\/strong> and Entertainment Tonight host and Best Buddies Global Ambassador Nancy O\u2019Dell,<\/strong> among others.<\/p>\n
