The decision to partner with Best Buddies was a natural fit for both Vince and Hannah, who have long been passionate about inclusion and giving back to their community.<\/p>\n

Vince Sims is the co-anchor of the NBC 5 Weekend Evening News and a reporter during the week, bringing over 25 years of journalism experience to the role. The three-time Emmy Award and Edward R. Murrow award-winning journalist is known for his ability to connect with viewers and cover impactful stories. Hailing from neighboring Arkansas, Vince has reported on everything from severe weather to political campaigns during his illustrious career.<\/p>\n

When Best Buddies approached Vince about co-emceeing the North Texas Gala, he was immediately on board. “I support any organization that works towards inclusion and moves towards making everyone feel welcome and supported,”<\/em> Vince shared. Best Buddies is honored to have Vince Sims, who has consistently championed change and inclusion in his community, lend his support to the organization.<\/p>\n

Joining Vince on the Gala stage is Hannah Wing Pontikes, the Digital & In-Game Host for the Texas Rangers. Hannah also hosts the “Rangers Deep in the Heart” podcast and contributes player sit-down interviews for “Rangers Insider” on Bally Sports Southwest. A University of Southern California graduate, Hannah’s passion for inclusion was sparked during her time volunteering at “Free 2 Be Me Dance,” where she taught hip hop and ballet to students with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n

After moving to Dallas for her job with the Rangers, Hannah wanted to continue making a difference and joined the Best Buddies Citizens Chapter in 2021. She has been buddies with Carinna for several years, bonding over their shared love of the Rangers, getting glam with blowouts, shopping, and indulging in sweet treats.<\/p>\n

“If everyone could have a buddy, I think they should,”<\/em> Hannah enthused. “It’s a beautiful enhancement to your life, and it’s amazing to spend time with your buddy and foster inclusion.”<\/em> Hannah reached out to Best Buddies in North Texas and asked how she could lend her support to the Gala. She shared, “The community support and sense of belonging that Best Buddies provides is truly life changing. I’m excited to help shine a spotlight on their important work.”<\/em><\/p>\n

With their energy, enthusiasm, and personal connections to the cause, Vince Sims and Hannah Wing Pontikes are the perfect pair to lead the charge at the North Texas Gala.
