Held on November 7 at <strong>Warehouse215<\/strong>, the event honored eight remarkable candidates who dedicated months to advocating for Best Buddies in Arizona and its mission to foster opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s campaign reached new heights, culminating in a record-breaking moment as <strong>Kendra Verdoni<\/strong> was crowned Champion of the Year. Kendra, alongside her mission partner <strong>Harrison<\/strong> and Campaign Manager <strong>Courtney Mistico<\/strong>, raised <strong>$138,755<\/strong>\u2014the highest amount ever achieved by a Champion of the Year candidate in Arizona\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on her achievement, Kendra shared her excitement and gratitude:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;We did it! 2024 Best Buddies Champion of the Year! The night was magical! Harrison and I raised just shy of $140,000 for Best Buddies in Arizona! We now hold the record for the most money raised by any candidate in Arizona history! I could not have done this without all the support of the amazing generous people that donated to our campaign. Each and every one of you are choosing to join a movement and show that inclusion matters, and all individuals deserve to live in a more inclusive world!&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The evening was filled with unforgettable moments, including a heartfelt video spotlighting <strong>Gabby<\/strong>, a longtime participant in Best Buddies programs, and her family\u2019s moving testimony about the life-changing impact of the organization.
