The event, which took place in a collaborative and engaging environment, highlighted the incredible work accomplished in 2024 while looking ahead to how Best Buddies can continue to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).<\/p>\n<p>The retreat kicked off with a review of the major highlights from 2024. The board members took a moment to celebrate the successes of the past year, recognizing the growth of Best Buddies\u2019 programs across the state. From expanding the number of Best Buddies friendship chapters to the growth of the Jobs Program, which connects individuals with IDD to meaningful employment opportunities, the achievements of the previous year were met with enthusiasm and pride. The conversations were productive and filled with innovative ideas to help Best Buddies expand its network and continue to foster inclusion, respect, and friendship for people with IDD.<\/p>\n<p>An exciting moment during the retreat was the celebration of five new members joining the advisory board. These new board members bring diverse perspectives and valuable expertise that will help steer Best Buddies into the future. With their fresh insights and commitment, the organization is poised to further elevate its mission of creating inclusive communities for individuals with IDD.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead to 2025, the board set ambitious goals, focusing on both expanding existing programs and creating new initiatives that will continue to improve the lives of people with IDD. The team is more motivated than ever to work collaboratively and creatively to help Best Buddies reach even greater heights in the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>As the retreat concluded, there was a palpable sense of optimism and excitement for the year ahead.
